Whether it’s a lifelong dream or a weekend getaway, Buffalo Police Federal Credit Union offers a variety of great savings options to help you get there. They’re all NCUA-insured, so you know your money is safe. Our deposit accounts let you earn competitive dividend rates while keeping your money totally liquid so you can get to it when you need it.

Regular share(savings) accounts

Our share account works just like a regular passbook savings account, but as an owner, you earn competitive dividends. The more you invest in your share account, the stronger your financial outlook will become.

If you have recently changed your contact information now is a great time to update us. Please ensure we have your correct address, phone number, and email.

Adding a beneficiary to your account ensures your assets will transfer directly to your loved ones upon your passing. This will bypass the lengthy probate court process. All you will need is the full name, date of birth, SS#, and physical address. Please call the office and we will handle your request.

Checking accounts

Share draft (checking) accounts

At the Buffalo Police Federal Credit Union, we believe that checking accounts should be a completely FREE service. There are no monthly fees or minimum balance requirements. We also offer a FREE FlexDebit Card (access to both checking and savings) including FREE ATM Access to over 28,000 ATM’s nationwide. Apply online today!

Checking switch kit

If you’ve been hesitant to make the complete switch to Buffalo Police FCU, we would like to help make this decision easier on you. We have created a simple Switch Kit to help you change your direct deposits, move your automatic payments, transfer your money from your existing financial institution, and close your account.

Follow these steps and download the forms:

Note: Each form can be filled out online, then printed and taken to your local Buffalo Police FCU Credit Union branch to be mailed.

Step 1: Join Buffalo Police FCU

Open your accounts with Buffalo Police FCU Credit Union either at our office or open an account online.

Step 2: Switch automatic transaction

1. Send written notice to your direct deposit vendors (payroll, social security, Certificate of Deposit (CD) interest payments, etc) notifying them of the change in financial institution.Download and fill out a Direct Deposit Change Request form.
2. Send written notice to your vendors with whom you have automatic payment arrangements from your checking (such as utilities, insurance, Internet service provider, banks, car payments, etc) notifying them of account change. Download and fill out an Automatic Payment Change form.

Step 3: Close your accounts

1. Ensure that all checks have cleared on your former checking account and that you leave sufficient funds in your account to cover any automatic payments that may still need to be withdrawn.
2. Ensure that any accounts set up to cover overdrafts have been paid in full so that you will not incur any NSF fees.
3. Send written notice to the financial institution that you are closing the account with.Download and fill out the Account Closing Request form.
4. Return Switch Kit forms to the Buffalo Police Federal Credit Union for postage paid mailing.You can also mail them to:

Fraudulent activity

If you have become a victim of fraud, we want to help ease your frustration. We will work diligently with you to guide you through the dispute process.

If you have noticed any fraudulent activity on your account, please notify us immediately so that we can take the appropriate steps to fully assist you.

It is imperative that you look at your statements and verify that all activity on your account was authorized by you.

Debit card security relies on protecting your PIN, using secure payments methods like digital wallets, and freezing your card immediately & notifying the CU if its lost or stolen. Debit cards take funds directly from your checking account, your fast action is vital in preventing unauthorized transactions.

Only shop on secure websites & trusted merchants that display a padlock icon and a URL beginning with HTTPS in your browser, and avoid saving payment information on websites.

Apple Pay, Google Pay, & Samsung Pay are available now, using these services is highly secure. They use tokenization meaning your actual card number is never shared with the merchant. Start using your digital wallet today!

Christmas clubs

• All deposits will be put into 1 club account per member
• There is no set dollar amount for deposit
• A dividend rate will be declared by the Board of Directors at the end of the club period.
• Partial withdrawals are subject to a 10.00 withdrawal fee
• All accounts closed out prior to dividends will not receive a dividend
• Account will be transferred to your checking account at the close of business on October 31.

Direct deposit

Convenient, automatic and safe, Direct Deposit is a smart and easy way to have your paycheck, retirement check, or Social Security check deposited automatically into your savings or checking accounts.

Payroll deduction

Payroll Deduction (if offered by your employer) is a free service that allows you to automatically deposit money into your Buffalo Police Federal Credit Union account directly from your paycheck! You choose the amount and just watch your savings grow! It is an effective way to budget your hard-earned dollars.

Money orders

For those times when you can’t use a personal check, money orders are an easy way to make payments. For a minimal fee, you can purchase money orders at the credit union for any amount up to $1,000.00.
